Geniatech Enjoy TV Stick ATV100: Amlogic AML8726-M3 Android 4.Zero HDMI Dongle
I imagine Geniatech are the source for pretty much all Android Tv bins with Amlogic 8726 chips, both licensed or unofficially cloned. A few of the apps used within the build of Android that runs on Geniatechs boxes are unique like the "Network" app used for playing media from samba shares so it’s easy to identify re-brands/clones. Though I do marvel if Amlogic is basically the source for this version of Android, that stated it’s all the time Geniatech who release the newest builds of Android for 8726 chips. Amlogic are a bit extra open it seems for some, apparently Davilla from XBMC team was given access and no fee streaming stick has ported XBMC to the Amlogic 8726 series, Pivos Group have hinted at XBMC coming to their field which is 8726-M1 based. Thanks for the data. Yesterday, I couldn't find anything when searching for Geniatech gpl or geniatech open supply, but perhaps they only present one other technique to launch their software, or they only launch it to selected partners (which is not really open source).
They appear to have launched most source code (u-boot, the kernel), have decent documentation explaining how to build all that and no fee streaming stick use AMLogic processor media capabilities. Information about AML8726-MX (Dual cortex A9) continues to be lacking for now. Just an replace if anybody occurs to read this I got my arms on an ATV100. The first downside is the firmware replace doesn't work, through on-line (returns error) or manually by way of the built in software Android update and Flixy Brand through the guide flash, all different Amlogic bins have a reset button that allows you to manually flash the firmware update even when the smooth replace fails. There is no fee streaming stick reset button on the ATV100 stick so your stuck. Geniatech have launched newer Android M3 builds on their web site however there is no method to use them so far as I can see. As for the construct of Android that runs on it, well doesn’t run that nice at all which is why I was hoping for the firmware update.
Lastly the CPU was clocked at 600Mhz not 800Mhz and there is barely 512MB of RAM present not 1GB as marketed, however after i took apart the stick the RAM modules after trying up the half numbers seem like 512MB modules and Flixy Brand there were two of them so unsure what’s happening. XBMC runs on the ATV100 naturally and it really works okay but a bit gradual and took perpetually to put in. If someone knows the way to force an replace on an Amlogic stick I’d love to know and see if the other M3 firmwares resolve most of those problems and i just acquired some wonky early dev construct on mine. Running linux/XBMC on it could be even better once a construct is out there for no fee streaming stick 8726-M3 units. Your e-mail deal with is not going to be revealed.
